The First Promise is an 8 × 45-minute supernatural horror limited series set on the island of Gozo, Malta, developed as a UK–Malta–Ireland co-production through Nu Pitch Productions — and its production methodology is as distinctive as its mythology. The project runs a three-territory hybrid pipeline: present-day sequences shot live action on location across Gozo; deep mythological flashbacks routed to a virtual production LED volume stage delivering photorealistic ancient environments at scale; and an integrated AI content generation pipeline threading across both worlds, deployed for pre-visualisation, transformation work, and atmospheric development. Every technological choice is a dramatic argument the real island anchors the human story, the virtual stage gives the mythology its scale, and the AI pipeline gives an ambitious limited series the production reach to compete at the highest level of the international co-production market.
